The only reason I chose the Jack Johnson song, Traffic in the Sky, was because of the word "Traffic" and it was a short song. Don't try to read deep into it. : )
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it" (Is. 30:21). Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long (Ps. 25:4-5).

Michael Card
It's weird to feel like you know someone when they don't know who you are. He was a regular part of the family throughout my childhood. His music soothed my soul in my teens, twenties, and to this day. This week I learned that we all have a music "heart language." I realized that his music largely defines my music heart language--"comfort food" for the soul, music that is like an old friend, the style in which you naturally compose should you try your hand at it.
I got to see him 4 days in a row and hear him speak/sing/play 3 days in a row. SO fun. What an amazing teacher and musician and unbelievably humble man.

Close Call
The rental car driver said he would arrive early in the morning to take me and friends to the airport.
I had a 6:30 pm international flight. Theirs was at 5:05 pm.
8 am: we were packed and ready to go.
10:52 am: he arrived, 5 hours after he left home.
10:57 am: we started the 80-mile drive to the airport.
For over 7 hours we did not detour. Not even to eat. Oh no.
When a need arose, we just got out of the car and walked. Eventually the car would catch up.
6:18 pm: We arrived at the airport.
The airlines told me I couldn't check in; I was too late.
But has the flight actually left yet?
They called to ask if the "white girl" could still make the flight.
I made the flight.
God is good.
Summer-time traffic from the mountains is BAD.
